Position Description
Vantage is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Construction Cost Finance Manager to contribute to critical functions relating to Vantage’s finance and growth strategies. You will support and lead broad company initiatives and interact with key internal and external stakeholders as they relate to budgeting, financial reporting, and other finance functions.
You will work closely with other groups within the Finance team and have visibility with members of our Executive Teams in Asia Pacific as well as North America and Europe. You will perform highly specialized and complex financial analysis, budget analysis, and other fiscal functions. Your duties will include reviewing construction payments and contracts, maintaining our construction cost database, supporting financial planning, forecasting and modelling, budget development, and management reporting and benchmarking. Essential Job Functions and Duties- Develop and maintain standard budget templates to track construction, mechanical, and electrical costs- Cash flow forecasting- Long-term capital project forecasts for build outs of entire campuses- Perform forensic analysis and resolve any billing issues- Communicate or meet with owner project manager to gather status information to prepare a cost estimate update- Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects. Complete timely, accurate cost checking and valuation processes- Review, estimate, and track letters of authorizations, project authorizations, and change orders- Develop cost controls that are consistent with the executed Master Service Agreements-
- Facilitate progress payment pencil draw meetings, enforce cost control per the contract, track billing issues, and recommend payment withholdings- Participate effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes- Provide training and support to the Design and Construction teams, including but not limited to written comments to the general contractor’s submissions, including the executive summary, analyzing the construction contractor’s schedule of values and maintain retention held, reconcile changes that occur over the planning phase and assist the general contractor to ensure that their data is accurate.- Provide cost database support- Create problem escalation plans, manage reporting processes, and establish timelines and milestones- Collaborate with auditors and accountants to develop and maintain internal controls for compliance with state and internal audit standards. Provides information to internal/external auditors and management as requested- Coordinate with Tax to track and comply with tax reporting requirements
Job Requirements- Engineering or Accounting/Finance degree preferred- 8+ years in cost controls and project management roles, particularly in Construction industry- Data Center experience is preferred, but not required-
- Cost Database Management and Excel experience strongly preferred- Ability to effectively respond to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints- Ability to make effective presentations on topics of domain expertise- Provide a high-level of commitment to customer service with co-workers and stakeholders- Skilled at solving problems and dealing with a variety of options with limited information- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form-
- This position requires an organized individual with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously, work well under pressure, and to prioritize work effort, all with mínimal supervision- Travel required is expected to be mínimal
