Responsibility

The Singapore Country Counsel will be responsible for:

- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial and public sector contracts and tender documents covering information technology products and services,
- Supporting sales teams and assessing and mitigating risks under contracts with customers and suppliers,
- Advising internal business clients on a range of matters relevant to in the IT sector, including information technology supply and distribution arrangements, software licensing, cloud computing, and data privacy,
- Advising Human Resources on employment and labor law,
- Investigating potential breaches of HPE’s standards of business conduct,
- Managing the company’s local legal budget, and
- Maintaining the company’s local entities, including corporate record-keeping and drafting director and shareholder resolutions.

- Be innovative and capable of working independently and autonomously as well as collaboratively especially in a remote team environment,
- Build strong relationships with business clients and legal colleagues,
- Explain complex legal concepts in a simple, practical manner,
- Show initiative by spearheading or volunteering for local, regional, and global Legal Department projects,
- Display strong diplomacy skills as demonstrated by the ability to listen to others and digest complex business information balanced with the willingness to be assertive where required,
- Proficiently speak and write in business English with the ability to speak and write Chinese or Bahasa a big plus,
- Step outside their comfort zone and job description to solve problems, and
- Exemplify a commitment to ethics and integrity.

**Requirements**:
You must be licensed to practice law in Singapore.
