Apac Policy Communications Manager

**APAC Policy Communications Manager (AI and Innovation) Responsibilities**:

- Communications strategy, planning and execution - working with our global and in-country communications teams, public affairs, policy programmes, and marketing to develop, coordinate and deliver execution of the Global AI corporate/policy communications strategy in APAC- Design and lead data-driven newsworthy stories/content for owned and earned channels that demonstrate Meta’s leadership in the AI era, demonstrate the socio-economic value enabled by Meta’s AI technologies, and build trust in Meta and our innovations. Work with country Comms teams to execute and land those.
- Agency coordination and management
- Crisis and issues management - working with local country teams to manage and respond to inbound press enquiries across the region
- Build an in-depth understanding of Meta’s AI and Metaverse products, policies and approach, and distil this work into plain language for media, policymakers, and the general public through a wide range of written material like blog posts, Q&As, briefing materials and talking points
- Ensure we have a strong bench of relevant and trained spokespeople for media interviews and public speaking engagements.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Extensive experience (~10 years) in corporate/policy communications for consumer facing brands, or in relevant Government communications departments.
- Campaign mindset with a proven track record delivering proactive communications strategies/campaigns that cut through and deliver measurable results.
- Experience in issues management and explaining complex topics across a wide range of audiences.
- Proven experience that stretches beyond media relations to reach audiences directly via social/owned content.
- Sound judgment and decision-making in complex and dynamic scenarios. Able to stay calm under pressure.
- A well-organised team player with a proven track record to build relationships cross-functionally across different time zones, and to successfully engage and influence stakeholders to shape outcomes for the highest impact
- Proven experience preparing and staffing spokespeople for high-profile media experiences.
- Thrives in a fast changing environment and can adapt plans accordingly
- Proven organisational skills and attention to detail
- Growth mindset with a proven track record for new, innovative approaches and smart risk taking.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and emotional intelligence to work well with all levels of the business.
- An understanding of or curiosity around the political and media environment in countries across APAC
- Experience managing a budget
