Our client is a commodity trading firm which has a global brand name. It is now looking to hire a Trader (Specialty Products)

Job Summary:

- Perform under supervision, executing trading activities, processes, and projects as planned and approved by the Company’s Management and Headquarter.
- Provide internally recognized technical and analytical skills acting as technical reference for all levels within the company.
- Actively contribute to the improvement of work practices, company’s policies and training programs to the trading and related areas.

Description:

- Perform under supervision, executing trading activities, processes, and projects as planned and approved by the Company’s Management and Headquarter.
- Responsible for identifying, developing and originating business opportunities in targeted markets.
- Building key relationships with clients in the target markets to grow the trading business.
- Provide trading team with regular updates on market trends, demand and prices.
- Create new sales and marketing strategies, business development expertise to quickly expand the firm’s trading volumes.
- Be key point of coordination between target markets, Singapore office and headquarters for operations, finance and risk management.
- Facilitate Singapore office in liaison and communication with counterparties.
- Provide internally recognized technical and analytical skills acting as technical reference for all levels within the company.Actively contribute to the improvement of work practices, company’s policies and training programs to the trading and related areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in International Trade, Business, Finance, Economics or a related field.
- **3 years of practical trader experience in physical commodity (dry bulk/specialty products) trading covering physical markets. The specialty products that is relevant (though not essential) are petroleum coke, benzene, sulphur etc. Also open to traders covering dry bulk, crude oil, fuel oil who are keen on this role.**:

- **Working knowledge of derivatives is advantageous but not essential.**:

- Proven track record of trading success with strong performance outcomes.
- **In-depth understanding of global energy markets, particularly in dry bulk/speciality products market.**:

- **Familiarity with the Chinese energy market and international trade regulations.**:

- **Strong proficiency in oil market analytics and data interpretation.**:

- Sound knowledge of trading strategies, financial instruments, and risk management practices.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to influence positively and collaborate in team settings.
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- **Proficient in English and Mandarin (spoken, written, and reading) to effectively engage in a multicultural and globally diverse business environment. The Mandarin proficiency is required given the coverage of the Chinese market for the role.**:

- Open to some travel of around 20% of the time.

Reporting:

- Reports to Manager, Specialty Products Global Trading, based in overseas HQ.
- Administrative reporting to Crude Oil Manger (Singapore office).
