Overview

The Functional Testing Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of the company’s video analytics and video management systems (VAP and VMS). This role is responsible for reviewing product designs, defining and executing test plans, recommending improvements, and closely collaborating with developers to meet performance and quality standards. The engineer must be technically proficient in software QA methodologies, programming, and scripting, while also possessing strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. The position impacts both internal teams and external customers and requires the ability to adapt to evolving QA trends in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What will you do?

**Test Planning & Design**
- Review product design documentation to ensure that requirements stated are correct, unambiguous, and verifiable
- Define test methods and create test plans for new or updated software projects
- Formulate and design software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models

**Test Execution & Reporting**
- Execute test plans and create test reports to describe program evaluation, testing, and correction
- Monitor program performance after implementation to prevent reoccurrence of program operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation

**Collaboration & Communication**
- Consult with product development to evaluate system interfaces, operational requirements, and performance requirements
- Maintain effective communication with software engineers on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and hardware interface changes

**Continuous Improvement & Recommendations**
- Recommend design improvements or corrections to engineers throughout the development process
- Create test tools that facilitate data gathering and test method execution
- Technical / Professional Skills:_
- _Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python)_
- _Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes_
- _Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing_
- _Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting_
- _Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases_
- _Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments_
- _Experience in UI/UX testing (preferred)_
- Soft Skills:_
- _Excellent written and verbal communication skills_
- _Strong interpersonal skills, able to work independently and within a team_
- _Time management and organizational skills_
- _Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new technologies_
- _Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment_
- _Fluent in English (spoken and written)_
- Work Experience:_
- _Minimum of 3 years working in the software testing industry_
- Education Qualifications:_
- _Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline_
