Middleware (Api) Engineer

We are intending to onboard a permanent Middleware (API) Engineer resource to work with one of our clients in the travel domain.

**Responsibilities**
- Work with all stakeholders to develop a capability development plan and define project specifications;
- Ensure on-time and on-target delivery of project requirements;
- Developing and maintaining APIs and microservices;
- Developing lambda functions;
- Creating and maintaining DynamoDB databases;
- Maintaining API gateway and AppSync-based APIs;
- Developing and maintaining mobile app backend;
- Support, maintain and enhance system performance to ensure meet SLA;
- Inspect the code base and fix miss alignment with the architecture guidelines.

**Requirements**:

- Experience in Agile Project Management Methodology;
- Proven experience in Release Project management tools like Bitbucket, JIRA etc. and CI and CD testing tools like Jenkins;
- Ability to lead a team, plan and manage development and delivery capacity;
- Ability to provide quick turnaround to software issues and management requests;
- Proficiency in C-like languages and at least one scripting language (Python preferred);
- At least 3 years of experience developing in Python and Node.js;
- At least 2 years of experience using AWS serverless architecture;
- Demonstrable use of CI/CD for app development;
- A deep understanding of OOP concepts, MVC frameworks and API consumption (REST, XML feeds, SOAP).
