Lead- Global Simulation Center

As the Lead of ABS Global Simulation Center, you will be actively engaged in **driving industry-leading research and development **associated with **Modeling and Simulation **.

What You Will Do:

- **Lead the ABS Global Simulation Center, in charting the path forward for the marine and offshore industry **in the field of **Modeling and Simulation **(M&S) **with focus on the following areas:

- M&S of systems onboard of ships or offshore platforms such as power and propulsion systems, electrical system, and fuel gas supply systems
- M&S of ship and fleet operation in seaway
- M&S of maritime ecosystems such as green shipping corridors
- Virtual testing of complex systems using Model-In-the-Loop (MIL), Software-In-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL)
- Model-based plan review and survey
- Simulation-based Energy Efficiency Evaluation for new build and retrofit

Activities will include:

- Collaboration with industry stakeholders on joint research initiatives
- Development of guidelines address the use of the technology
- Application of software tools to support design, verification & validation
- **Actively promote the services and capabilities of ABS **throughout the technical and business community.

What You Will Need:
Education & Experience
- **Minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience **in the energy industry, shipyard, design/consulting office, shipping/oil company, university, or classification society.
- **Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture **or other related discipline; MSc or PhD is preferred.
- **Minimum 3 years’ Experience in managerial position
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- **Knowledge of ship systems **such as onboard power, propulsion, electrical, and control systems.
- **Knowledge of classification rules and industry standards **regarding power and electrical systems
- **Knowledge and experience in simulation software such as Amesim, Simulink, ETAP, and SKM **would be an advantage.
- **Strong communicator **with excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent command of the English language.
- Demonstrated ability to **work well with others **.

Reporting Relationships:
Reports, as assigned, to a Director or Vice President.

Working Conditions:
Work is primarily sedentary. Occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
