Senior Data Modeler and Mapper is part of the Data Engineering workstream within Information Technology, responsible for building comprehensive data models for all systems on Data Lake/Cloud platforms with batch/real-time data ingestion and processing. The role is required to work with team members to contribute in all areas of data modeling, data mapping and overall data architecture.
- Develop scalable data model using best practices approach to support Data Lakes, Data Warehouse and Data Mart implementations that can be expandable to adapt to greater demands and sustain complex requirements.
- Experienced in creating new data models and ER diagrams using reverse engineering techniques from existing modeling specifications.
- Establish processes around model testing and continuous deployment to address nimble data requirements.
- Establish Data Architecture standards and set development methods like a shared staging area, common forms of key generation, look-up of shared referenced data, retention of processed data or files and naming conventions.
- Identify, design, and implement data process improvements, including automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.
- Design and implement Normalize, Dimensional, and NoSQL data modelling that can capture and maintain historical data (SCD), able to audit the data ( _business and technical _), able to handle CDC process, and able to track/monitor/control the status of the data flow and process.
- Working with day to day Repository Management activities like Model Merging, User Role Creation, User Access Grants, Model Freezing and Model Version Management.

**Professional Working Experience**:

- Hands on experience in Data modeling and management tools, like, ERWin, ER/Studio, SAP Power Designer, etc.
- Strong SQL/NoSQL skills with experience in model testing and performance tuning.
- Experience in creating use cases specific activity diagrams, sequence diagrams and data flow diagrams.
- Good knowledge, exposures, and experience in designing, delivery and implementing data architectures, data modernization, and data solutions using Azure cloud data technologies is a plus.
- Prior experience in Insurance domain with the understanding of Core Policy Administration systems data architecture and data models is preferred.
- Experience working with multiple data sources and 3rd party data, including relational databases (SQL Server / Oracle / DB2 / Netezza), NoSQL / document databases, flat files, and big data objects (HDFS, Parquet, JSON, Orc, Avro, etc.)

**Qualifications**:

- Master's degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Knowledge of Life insurance practices and systems preferred.
