NTU Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) aims to transform the university's inventions and creative ideas into practical solutions that drive economic growth and improve the quality of life for Singapore and beyond.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTU and a key innovation driver under NTU I&E, NTUitive oversees the cultivation of startups and spin-offs, as well as the related investments. We are seeking an Assistant Director, IP Management, to join our team at NTUitve.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform patent, literature and internet prior art searches in a variety of technical fields.
- Analyze prior art search results and evaluate technology/invention disclosures to determine if they meet the statutory requirements of patentability.
- Conduct IP and patent landscape analyses, perform due diligence assessments, and deliver comprehensive reports and presentations.
- Strategize the best mode of IP protection in view of the intended use of the IP.
- Interact with faculty members and researchers, academic/industry research collaborators, as well as with external patent/law firms regarding IP protection matters.
- Review IP clauses in existing and new agreements, such as IP management, research collaboration and license agreements.
- Oversee the filing, prosecution and overall management of an IP portfolio (e.g. patents, copyrights etc.).
- Take on special projects as directed, working in a team environment, e.g. to identify opportunities for IP optimization, and implement solutions that enhance the IP position and value, to accelerate commercialization of technologies.

**Requirements**:

- Degree, with preferably postgraduate Masters/PhD qualification, in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Lifesciences and Medical Technology or related discipline.
- Graduate Certificate in IP Law, Postgraduate Diploma or Masters of IP and Innovation Management will be an added advantage.
- Relevant work experience in research or related Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Lifesciences and Medical Technology industry and in IP industry.
- Prior experience in IP related work and familiarity with the patent process are essential.
- Skilled in web-based research (e.g. using various online patent and journal databases) and in IP data analytical tools.
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate in more than one language will be an added advantage.
- Meticulous with good interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Self-motivated and confident.
- Demonstrate a disciplined and detail-orientated approach in identifying, analyzing applicable information/data, and considering all relevant factors before making sound recommendations/decisions.
- Ability to multi-task, assess priorities and make sound independent decisions and use initiative.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to advance new ideas.
