Autonomous Vehicle Intern, Calibration

We are seeking talented Interns to drive products that will shape the fast-moving Autonomous Vehicle (AV) industry, deliver a turnkey, fully autonomous driving system.

Sensor calibration is one of the foundational building blocks of an autonomous vehicle (AV). In simple terms, sensor calibration informs the AV how its sensors are positioned on the vehicle within a high degree of accuracy. This allows the AV to perceive the world and its position in the world from multiple sensors, such as LiDARs, radars, cameras, and inertial measurement units (IMU) by bringing their readings into a common coordinate frame.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Build new concepts and groundbreaking solutions that shape the future of mobility
- Possible projects could include (non-exhaustive):

- Outdoor, unstructured calibration and validation
- Integration of novel machine learning approaches into the calibration process using a motion capture system to create ground truth values for calibration algorithms
- Anything that you can come up with that helps our processes

**To be successful, you'll have**:

- Pursuing a Master's or PhD degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or a related field
- Experience in one of the following fields: machine learning, probabilistic robotics, state estimation, computer vision, SLAM or multi-modal sensor calibration
- Modern C++ development experience in a Unix/Linux environment
- Experience working with sensors such as cameras, LiDARS, RADARs and IMUs
- Experience working with robotic systems
- Ability to comfortably explore uncharted territories
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
