Principal Service Designer

**Job Description**:
- Lead in planning, managing, monitoring, and coordinating health and safety during the pre-construction phase of a project involving multiple contractors.
- Identify and evaluate potential health and safety risks.
- Plan how to eliminate or control those risks, including ensuring that the design and planning process incorporates safety considerations.
- Provide advice and guidance to the client and other designers.
- Collaborate with the principal contractor to ensure that health and safety information is communicated effectively.
- Prepare and maintain the health and safety file.
**Requirements**:
- Relevant qualifications and experience: This may include architectural, engineering, or other relevant design-related degrees or qualifications.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations (or equivalent): This is essential for understanding the legal requirements related to health and safety in construction.
- Strong understanding of health and safety principles: This includes knowledge of risk assessment, hazard identification, and control measures.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders: This includes designers, clients, principal contractors, and other relevant parties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: The ability to effectively communicate health and safety information and collaborate with others is crucial.
- Organizational skills: The Principal Designer must be able to manage the planning, monitoring, and coordination of health and safety aspects of the project.
- For organizations appointed as Principal Designer: They must demonstrate the organizational capability to carry out the functions of the role.
