Senior Jewelry Designer

As a Lead Jewelry Designer at Ask & Embla, you will play a crucial role in bringing our creative vision to life. Working closely with the Creative Director, you will refine design concepts, develop new styles, and create design briefs for 3D designers. Your responsibilities will encompass translating conceptual ideas into tangible designs, producing detailed tech packs for sampling and production, and ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and quality standards.

**What You'll Do**:
**1. Design Concept Refinement**:

- Collaborate with the Creative Director to polish up design concepts, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and market trends.
- Interpret creative briefs and translate them into innovative and marketable jewelry designs that resonate with our target audience.

**2. New Style Development**:

- Generate new jewelry styles and concepts that complement the Creative Director's vision and enhance the brand's product offerings.
- Conduct research on emerging trends, materials, and techniques to inspire fresh design ideas and maintain a competitive edge in the market.

**3. Design Brief Creation**:

- Develop comprehensive design briefs for 3D designers, providing clear direction and specifications for rendering and prototyping.
- Collaborate with 3D designers to ensure that design concepts are accurately translated into digital renderings, incorporating feedback and revisions as needed.

**4. Tech Pack Production**:

- Work closely with the Product Development Manager to ensure that tech packs meet quality standards and facilitate smooth production processes.

**5. Quality Assurance**:

- Conduct thorough reviews of design files and tech packs to verify accuracy and completeness, identifying and addressing any potential issues or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that finished products meet design specifications and quality standards before mass production.

**6. Creative Collaboration**:

- Participate in brainstorming sessions and design reviews with cross-functional teams to foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to solicit feedback, incorporate input, and refine designs throughout the development process.

**Who You Are**:

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Jewelry Design, Fashion Design, or related field. Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- At least 3 years in Jewelry Design, Fashion Design and/or Product Design fields
- Proven experience as a jewelry designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative design concepts and technical proficiency.
- An appreciation for Alternative Jewelry is a bonus but not necessary if one is able to adapt to our brand's style
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Rhino, or CAD/CAM software.
- Excellent understanding of jewelry manufacturing processes, materials, and techniques.
- Strong conceptual and creative skills, with the ability to translate ideas into visually compelling designs.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
