**Role Summary**

The main purpose of a Shipbroker is to act as a specialist intermediary/negotiator between shipowners and charterers to arrange ocean transport of goods and commodities by sea, the employment of a vessel or to buy/sell ships on behalf of a client. We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented, experienced Shipbroker to join our Dry Cargo Panamax team in our Singapore office. We seek exceptional communication skills, a strong work ethic and a high degree of integrity.

**What you will be doing**
- Instigate, arrange and negotiate deals, including relationship building to develop business
- Daily contact with ship owners and charterers
- Maintain a database of daily market activities and keep track of vessel positions
- Negotiate charters to achieve optimum results for clients
- Provide market insight and trade ideas to clients
- Build strong rapport with existing clients and develop business with new clients
- Maintain databases and prepare market information and reports for clientsMaintain internal data flow of key market information

**What we are looking for**

**Key Attributes**
- Experience working as a Shipbroker with a global shipbroking firm
- A Maritime degree from a reputable university will be highly regarded
- In-depth knowledge of the Dry Cargo Panamax market, with strong and established relationships in this segment
- Proven track record managing Chinese mainland client accounts, with the ability to navigate and grow relationships in this market
- Existing portfolio of clients and strong connections with international operators based in Singapore required
- Demonstrated ability to both nurture existing relationships and drive new business opportunities
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Driven, self-motivated, and client-focused
- Strong numeracy, analytical, and presentation skills
- High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
- Confident, outgoing personality with a collaborative mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and proficiency in Mandarin is highly regarded for client relationship purposesProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
