Under the direction of the Country Medical Director, the TA is responsible for prioritizing, coordinating and implementing all medical/scientific activities of the Therapeutic Area (TA). In doing so, the TA Lead takes into account the global strategy and closely coordinates with the local brand team and other relevant stakeholders.

The TA Lead oversees the medical content of the operational and strategic brand team plans, drives this and ensures the successful implementation of the content while adhering to resources, timelines and budgets.

Together with the medical team, the TA Lead represents the company to leading medical experts, professional societies and institutions in the relevant indication. The TA Lead is involved in the strategic and operational direction of the Medical Department.

The TA Lead has a clear vision of Medical affairs and Medical Transformation and drives the implementation and execution.

**Provide scientific information and support**:

- Contribute to and support the clear articulation of a compelling brand strategy for her/his therapeutic area of responsibility across Ipsen marketing, sales and medical functions
- Strategic management of the development activities in the responsible medical-scientific area in close cooperation with local (brand team) and international internal partners with the aim of creating operational and strategic plans.
- Responsible for the successful implementation and adequate communication of all planned medical projects and studies according to these plans in terms of resources, timelines and budgets, if necessary in close cooperation with the Clinical Operations Team and other relevant stakeholders.
- Establishing/expanding and maintaining the key opinion leader network, including involvement in professional societies, health policy organisations, etc. to build and maintain a medical-scientific partnership at eye level to help shape the health policy environment and take responsibility for the scientifically sound representation of the company to the outside world.

**Develop and Maintain knowledge on her/his product/ area of responsibility**:

- Track and manage evolving evidence base in areas critical for the organisation. Ensure this is communicated to the appropriate Ipsen personnel
- Support Health Care Professionals (HCPs), including Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), in line with Ipsen strategy. Support HCPs by reactively (and proactively where appropriate) providing them with scientific and clinical data.
- Attend appropriate scientific congresses to interact with HCPs, develop knowledge in relevant therapy areas and to produce congress summaries for dissemination to HCPs.
- Support the dissemination of product and disease area knowledge across Ipsen in accordance with business priorities
- Undertake regular communication of best practice and facilitation of knowledge sharing cross functionally and across geographies
- Assist in maintaining, improving and promoting the Medical Information and wider Medical service in line with the Franchise Strategy and Ipsen SOPs

**Provide medical brand support and MSL activities**:

- Contribute to the design and execution of product / diseases area clinical trials through sponsorship of local studies or support of Specialty Franchise studies as appropriate, and in line with Ipsen SOPs and International Guidelines to ensure successful completion of the trials and their publication. Where required, provide budget control and accountability of these programmes.
- Provide support to MA in their scientific liaison activities as well as coordinating medical information activities
- Undertake publication planning, slide-deck development and internal training initiatives
- Assist in the development, review and approval of scientific and clinical content of relevant promotional and non-promotional materials and activities
- Provide field-based medical support to the Company's clinical research programs as required
- Gather and disseminate competitive intelligence from multiple sources.
- Provide out of hours medical cover as required
- Provide technical / medical support to Local Regulatory Affairs as required
- Undertake other departmental tasks and provide support as required
