A clinic assistant plays a crucial role in completing administrative and clinical tasks in a medical clinic, hospital, or healthcare facility. They work with physicians and other medical professionals, helping to complete tasks like filing insurance forms or providing clinical care when needed by patients.
**Responsibilities**
- Greet and welcome patients as they arrive at the clinic in a friendly and professional manner
- Assist patients with the check-in process, including verifying personal and insurance information
- Schedule appointments for patients, either in person or over the phone, ensuring efficient utilization of clinic resources
- Maintain and update patient records accurately and confidentially in our electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient clinic operations
- Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and provide information about clinic services
- Assist medical staff with minor administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, and data entry
- Process billing and insurance claims, and assist patients with understanding their financial responsibilities
- Support the overall cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment
**Requirements and skills**
- Previous experience as a clinic assistant, medical receptionist, or in a similar role is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in English
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Empathetic and compassionate approach towards patient care
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is beneficial
