**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

As the Senior Manager of AI Network Infrastructure at Firmus, you will lead a specialised network team while also contributing directly to the design and implementation of highly scalable physical networks for AI systems. Your role is crucial in building in-house expertise and establishing a centre of excellence, elevating the knowledge of adjacent teams and field technicians.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small, specialised team of network engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Network Design & Implementation: Architect and build highly scalable physical networks optimised for AI workloads, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability. Being physically present on-site for key deployments and commissioning as resident expert is a requirement of this role.
- Technology Expertise: Maintain and expand deep technical knowledge of advanced networking technologies including NVIDIA InfiniBand, Spectrum Ethernet Platform, and RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE).
- Knowledge Development: Establish and grow a centre of excellence for AI network infrastructure at Firmus, developing best practices and documentation.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Firmus Technology and Sales teams in both Engineering & Technology and Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure to align network infrastructure with evolving AI requirements of our customers.
- Training and Upskilling: Develop and deliver training programs to elevate the knowledge of adjacent teams and field technicians in AI networking technologies.
- Performance Optimisation: Continuously monitor and optimise network performance for AI workloads, implementing cutting-edge solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Partner Management: Maintain and build strong relationships with key technology partners and vendors to stay at the forefront of networking advancements.

**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
- 12+ years of working experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years focused on high performance computing or AI infrastructure.
- Proven experience managing technical teams and mentoring junior engineers.
- Deep practical knowledge of NVIDIA InfiniBand, Spectrum Ethernet Platform, ConnectX NICs, BlueField DPUs, and related software.
- Expertise in RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) and other high performance networking protocols.
- Strong understanding of AI workloads and their unique networking requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of high-performance networking technologies, including InfiniBand and advanced Ethernet systems.
- AI Infrastructure Understanding: Familiarity with AI workloads and their network requirements, including distributed training and inference.
- Project Management: Ability to lead complex network infrastructure projects from conception to implementation.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading and developing high performing technical teams.
- Strategic Thinking: Capacity to develop long-term strategies for AI network infrastructure evolution.
