Genetic Counsellor

We invite suitably qualified individuals to fill the position of:
**Genetic Counsellor**:
To complement the work of doctors in the delivery of care to cancer patients, who have a personal or family history, by providing genetic counselling information and support to these patients and their caregivers.

**Job Scope**

To provide cancer counselling and education, conduct and facilitate support group programmes to cancer patients under Parkway Oncology Clinical Programme.
- To develop genetic counselling resources in helping patients and caregivers understand the medical aspects of the genetic condition, as well as the psychological and familial implications of genetics and to review the importance, effectiveness and priority of resources to patients and caregivers.
- To coordinate genetic testing, including liaising with the respective genetic laboratories, arranging the testing, following up on results and discussion of results with patients and caregivers.
- To continuously develop ways to deliver better care for patients including but not limited to conducting learning gap analysis and providing staff training.

**Requirements**:

- Master’s Degree in Genetic Counselling or equivalent degree/certification in genetic counselling, which is supported or recognized by credible bodies listed under MOH Healthcare Services Act.
- Has accumulated at least 2 years of post-qualification relevant working experience (within 3-year period) in clinical genetic counselling
- Pleasant disposition with good interpersonal and communication skill
- Good organizational abilities with good problem resolution abilities
- Competent in MS Office
- Service-oriented and customer-focused
