**About The Role**
Makers Fund is a global interactive entertainment venture capital firm focused on early-stage investments. We are looking for a Compliance Officer who has experience in dealing with the Monetary Authority of Singapore. The fund required to comply with laws from various jurisdictions including but not limited to Singapore, USA, Hong Kong, Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands. This will be a key hire to oversee the end-to-end compliance function and be a key contributor to developing the business.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and implement regulatory compliance programs and strategies, and oversight on all Compliance Matters including AIFMC, LFMC, AML/CFT, Licensing, KYC, Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening, and Reporting.
- In charge of regulatory filings, Annual renewal, MAS reporting and surveys where required and provide advisory and support the business on all compliance matters.
- Be the liaison officer with MAS and other regulatory bodies (including but not limited to US, Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands) as well as facilitating internal and external compliance requirements.
- Design, evaluate, maintain internal policies, and coordinate with different department managers to help shape the company's approach on Compliance and related matters.
- Be the contact point to collate & review the subscription & KYC documents when new investors on-board and work closely with the fund administrator to clear any AML/KYC issues.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update the funds compliance strategies, policies, and frameworks, and oversee enhancements to address control deficiencies.
- Liase with internal auditor and external auditor for compliance matters and coordination of audit / regulatory inspection
- Lead employee training sessions on compliance issues and continuously improve and conduct compliance training programs.
- Reporting directly to General Partner in Singapore and work effectively with other business units such as Legal, HR and Finance.
**Skills and Requirements**:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in compliance roles of an international scope, including the MAS (AIFMC, LFMC, AML/CFT, compliance in Investment Banking or Financial Markets).
- Strong knowledge of Singapore compliance laws with the ability to research, read and interpret the laws, notice and guidelines.
- Cross-Border/Regional/APAC experience and accredited AML certifications are advantageous.
- Experience in developing and administering internal controls and processes.
- Great interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across geographies, functional areas, and competencies.
- Exceptional communication skills in English both written and verbal.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills and enjoy a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
- Strong knowledge of principles and best practices in audit and compliance.
- A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience in dealing with other regulatory bodies (including but not limited to US, Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands) is a plus.
- Experience in the cryptocurrency or capital markets industry is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in law, business administration, Accountancy, Finance, or other relevant qualification.
