OLAM FUND MANAGEMENT’s business is engaged in building Quantitative & Discretionary Trading Strategies (Quant Fund) and Agri fundamental trading Strategies (Fundamental Fund). These combine our experience and insight in commodity/financial markets with our knowledge of derivatives and statistical and mathematical skills built over the years.

**Job description**

The position will report into a Portfolio Manager (“ **PM **”) in the fund management business.

**Role**
- Perform active research, due diligence and analysis on the universe of current and potential opportunities
- Prepare financial models and analytical templates as and when required
- Assist the PM in constructing and managing a long / short equities portfolio with a focus on generating solid returns whilst ensuring it operates within defined risk limits
- Provide regular updates on individual investments and portfolio risk
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders on process improvements, onboarding investor entities in relevant markets and any other firmwide initiatives
- Collect, prepare and analyse datasets using advanced statistical methods to identify new and improve opportunities
- Help with the daily trading process, liaising with the external counterparties, internal back office, middle office and technology team(s)
- Comprehend and hedge the FX & IR exposure of the portfolio using various products

**Qualifications**
- Master’s degree preferred with a strong academic record in a related accounting, finance or quantitative field
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in equity strategies; ideally in an investment banking or hedge fund environment
- Strong programming skills to automate various tasks; at a bare minimum in excel VBA
- Excellent communication skills to ensure an effective and smooth collaboration within the team
- Passionate about equities markets and a strong intellectual curiosity to perform at a high level
