Legal Counsel

**Job Summary**

The incumbent will provide legal advice and support to stakeholders within the Venture Group global operations in Singapore, Europe, America, Malaysia and China, in alignment with the Group’s strategic objectives.

The incumbent will specialize in intellectual property matters for the Venture Group including in the areas of patent portfolio management, copyrights, licensing, distribution and intellectual property disputes.

The incumbent will ensure that the Venture Group operates in compliance with the law at all times and the risk exposure for the Group is limited and managed effectively. He / She will maintain a good standing with all our regulators, customers, and business partners.

**Responsibilities**:

- Reviewing a range of corporate and commercial contracts such as Manufacturing Services Agreements, Development Agreements, Software License Agreements, etc.
- Conducting legal research.
- Managing Venture Group’s portfolio of patents and trademarks including renewal of existing trademarks and patents.
- Developing an understanding of the existing and planned research and development programs to create strategies to appropriately assess and address intellectual property risks in Venture Group’s business models.
- Administering the internal contract review and approval processes.
- Adopting best practices for document and knowledge retention and management.
- Strengthening compliance and governance frameworks for the Venture Group including by developing policies and running training programs.

**Requirements**:

- Law degree from a reputable law school.
- 5-8 PQE.
- At least 5 years’ experience working in a law firm or an in-house legal team handling commercial and intellectual property matters.
- Highly motivated individual who can take responsibility over given work and progress with work.
- Keen willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- Excellent command of English.
- Articulate and concise in verbal and written communication.
