**Game Writer & Narrative Designer**

XII Braves is looking for a Writer & Narrative Designer to contribute to the studio’s narrative development and in-house communications for an ongoing project. As part of the Narrative Team, our writer will work closely with stakeholders, producers, the community team, and game designers. We are looking for people who are able to weave narrative artfully into game features and art assets, helping us to build cohesive and immersive worlds, characters and lines that capture our users’ imagination.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Research, conceptualise and pitch scenarios for limited-time events and full campaigns for existing and new IPs.
- Work with game designers and game directors to author texts including but not limited to dialogue, voiceover lines, mission prologues, level introductions, character profiles, inventory flavor text, in-game news, etc, that support game design goals while staying true to the established vision, lore and style of the IP.
- Proofread and edit content and documentation by stakeholders, game designers, and the community team for public release, and ensure clear and concise messaging to our target audience and corporate partners.
- Maintain the Master Text Documents and appendices required for projects the writer is involved in.

**Qualifications**:

- Excellent command of the English language.
- Graduate diploma/degree in the following or related fields: Literature, Film, Games Design, or Mass Communications.
- At least 1 year of experience in developing narrative content and/or writing in any form of media such as video games, web sites, television, film, print, radio.
- A strong portfolio of written work where dialogue features predominantly. Must be furnished to be considered for this position. Relevant writing samples include: dialogue for games, scripts, screenplays, stage plays, fiction—even fan fiction

**Preferred Qualities**:

- Well-read and well-versed in fantasy fiction, anime and manga.
- Academic background or research interests in fields such as sociology, anthropology, history, geography, mythology, psychology, etc.
- Strong team ethic
- Receptive to co-writing, co-editing and feedback/critique.
- Possesses a sensitivity to visual aesthetics, such as researching relevant images and art to supplement or conceptualise aspects of the narrative
- Versatility in writing styles—either currently proficient in a broad range of styles, or capable of quickly learning new ones.
- Takes feedback well and is motivated to improve constantly as a writer
- Meticulous and proofreads own work, detail-oriented

**Salary**: $2,000.00 - $4,000.00 per month
