Singapore Hyphen Group Full time

We are looking to hire an in-house Legal Counsel to be based in either Singapore or Hong Kong who thrives in a creative, fast-paced work environment.

Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, you will provide support for various legal and compliance activities and projects across the international organization. This role is ideal for someone passionate about fintech who is keen to move into a position that offers variety, with excellent prospects to grow and develop within Hyphen Group.

**YOUR TASKS**:

- Reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and coordinating execution of a wide range of commercial contracts and other legal documents (such as minutes, resolutions, filings)
- Providing time-sensitive support and advice on a wide array of legal, commercial and compliance matters, including insurance regulations, data privacy, intellectual property, M&A, employment issues and/or dispute resolution matters
- Identifying and consulting on legal risks in connection with the development of new services and products and/or expansion into new markets
- Monitoring and researching legal developments and advising on any impact on Hyphen Group's business
- Maintaining and updating standard contract templates, T&Cs and existing policies and procedures, and contributing to legal know-how and training materials
- Continually seeks efficiencies in process, contract automation and other ways to improve the legal team's output and outcomes
- Engaging, instructing, and managing external counsel as necessary

**SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS**:

- Common law qualified lawyer, 1-3 years PQE
- Experience working in private practice or in-house (ideally in a financially regulated/ fintech business)
- Clear written and verbal communication in English and Mandarin Chinese
- Ability to prioritize and manage own workload
- Proactive and a team player
- Strong business acumen, with an ability to use legal skills and judgment to provide practical, thoughtful and risk-based solutions
- Knowledge / experience of the insurance or fintech industry is desirable
