**Job Summary**
The Manager of Network Service Engineering leads a regional team of network service engineers responsible for day to day operation, maintenance, and optimization of the Equinix Metal network. This role works hand in hand with other regional managers, the department director, and other technical teams to ensure the Equinix Metal delivers first in class network experience for customers. This is a fully remote role and expected working hours are APAC time zone.
**Responsibilities**
- Recruit, lead, and manage a regional team of Network Service Engineers
- Manage operations schedule with assigned personnel to meet required coverage
- Maintain operational efficiency to provide fill in and/or escalation coverage as needed
- Lead the charge in incident response, communication, and service recovery
- Ensure departmental policies, procedures, runbooks, etc. are operationally adopted
- Ensure network infrastructure documentation is properly maintained
- Plan and execute assigned internal projects (i.e. new site deployments, life cycling, new tooling)
- Be a key contributor in planning and executing network maintenance activities
- Lead in tuning and improving monitoring/alerting solutions
- Be a key contributor in developing policies, procedures, and documentation
- Mentor assigned personnel and track progress of professional development
**Qualifications**
- College degree or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years working on large scale service provider networks and 5+ years in a senior role
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
- Familiar with local marketplace, companies and the community within the assigned region
- A strong understanding of customer service
- Must be self-motivated and disciplined
- Network hardware: Juniper, Arista, Nokia, Coriant, Opengear
- Network protocols/technologies: BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, ISIS, MPLS, IPv4/6, MST/PVST, and many others
