Senior Mechatronics Engineer

The Operations team partners closely with ResMed’s five business leaders to understand their needs then providing a variety of products and services to help them meet those needs including Customer and Technical Services, Global Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, manufacturing, logistics and distribution. Focused on enabling new product introduction and operating excellence, our team strives to improve time to market for new products and services, improve efficiencies in our cross-functional processes, and improve our supply chain through digitization and automation to increase value add to our customers.

We are looking for passionate Engineer who enjoys bespoke engineering and have sound knowledge in both electronics & mechanical components. The senior Mechatronics will be working hands-on commissioning and troubleshooting of new equipment’s and its integration into production environment into our highly automated and high volume Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) factory in a safely, timely, efficient, good quality and cost effective manner. The role will be responsible for improving existing mechanical systems, developing new product concepts and prototypes, designing and testing mechanical and electronic systems, and developing various automated systems.

Let’s talk about Responsibilities- Design, develop, integrate, test & commission tooling, equipment and production systems to facilitate the introduction of new products into manufacturing- Work with cross functional team on detailed electro-mechanical design at product level, sub-systems, modules and component level- Mechanical design of components and systems using 3D CAD software- Support feasibility study on conceptual design for new products and resolve issues while improving product assembly with jigs/fixtures- Promote a safe working environment by following OH&S guidelines as well as implementing & closing out actions for the continual improvement of work place safety.- Conduct Process FMEA's and appropriate Risk Assessments to ensure and demonstrate full compliance to product specification and requirements- Represent LSR manufacturing engineering on new design project XFT, actively provide constructive technical feedback and recommendations to ensure robust, manufacturable product.- Oversee and co-ordinate design/production activities with external vendors. Understand project risk, develop contingencies, track milestones and deliver project outcomes on time.- Introduce & maintain production procedures.- Provide training on new equipment, processes & procedures as required.- Complete process validation activities & documentation.- Identify & implement GMP, Six-Sigma LEAN improvement actions.- Develop, motivate and mentor other manufacturing engineers.- Significantly improve, change or adapt existing engineering methods and processes in line with business/project requirements- Demonstrates willingness to take initiative, solve problems and make decisions as if the leader was there- Demonstrates ownership of challenges or issues and takes appropriate action- Introduce new technology and lean processes (automation & digitization) to enhance operations efficiency, reduced floor space, and improve manufacturing scalability that aligns to Industry 4.0 technologies.

Let’s talk about Qualifications and ExperienceDegree in mechatronics engineering or related discipline- Demonstrated experience in highly automated and high manufacturing process preferably in injection moulding environment- Extensive experience in NPI and new technology introduction- Excellent troubleshooting skills- Sound electrical, mechanical and pneumatic design knowledge of Robotic systems and automated machinery.- Self-motivated, Proven team player with ability to technically lead and teach.- Excellent organizational and technical communication skills.
