The Material Science Laboratory’s primary mission is to provide analytical test solutions to enable media and substrate process and product qualification as well as product yield, quality and reliability. The team also serves a critical role on HDM tribology, material characterization, contamination and defect reduction, working closely with and enabling other functions in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Recording Technology, R&D, Customer Interface and Manufacturing. The Materials Science Laboratory plays a significant role in supporting the New and Sustaining media manufacturing lines on yield/quality improvement activities, failure analysis, material qualification, etc. We cordially invite you to become a team member of the next generation HDD lube development & product qualification to improve process stability & manufacturability. You would be tasked to work closely with the R&D & process team to support the Tof-SIMS measurement focusing on media lubricant characteristic, Lube and Carbon interface and surface contamination analysis. This role will report to an Engineering Manager. **About the role - you will**: - be working under the guidance of the senior members of the team in a wet and dry laboratory environment; - perform material science lab test and hands on operation laboratory analytical instruments e.g. Tof-SIMS and others such as LC-TOF, XPS, SEM-EDX. - work in a team that develops metrology and deploys technical solution and reliability requirements of hard disc drive - work closely with the design functional groups to provide high-level analytical support to product and process engineering team - carry out analysis and compile report(s) to be published or reviewed by the management; - communicate with the analytical job requester pertaining to job background, answering questions raised by requester pertaining to the report, etc; - present data during the meeting and answering questions raised by audiences. **About you**: - A good team player with a positive attitude and self-initiative with an open mind. - High interest in a Lab in manufacturing company - Good interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (in expressing themselves, clear concise easy to understand) > Give Presentation - MSc /PhD in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Material Science. - Working experience in HDD recording media lube and Tof-SIMS skill is added advantage. **Your experience includes**: - A keen learner who can anticipate and learn new trends and updated technology (Growth Mindset) - Preferably with experience in Semi-conductor/hard-disk drive industries /knowledge and/or analytical laboratory experience with strong analytical skill and expertise on Tof-SIMS, LC-Tof, ICP-MS and material/contamination characterization. - Relevant industry experience would be highly preferred (Must come from a Lab environment) **Location**: Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT Station, with many employees taking mass transportation to work. Ample free on-site parking is also available.
