**About our group**:
The Multi Disc Writer (MDW) / Multi Disk Spiral Write (MDSW ) Process & Product team is managing the final process of the media manufacturing processes. Our team is the last process of Media manufacturing processes. We are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and providing high servo quality of media to meet customers’ requirements. Also, we need to take care of the media Thermal Asperity (TA) screening & Media tools TA performance monitoring / triggering.

Our team's mission is to optimize and improve current process (servo / TA metrics) to meet all customers requirement (include internal Hard Disc Drive plants and external customers). Without MDSW / MDW team, then, no Media. Without Media, no hard disc drive. We are one of the key teams of the STX. And we are also part of the global team.

Our team’s main job functions are qualifying for new design media/ head / processes on MDW & MDSW, optimize our process to achieve the STX cost & OEE goals. It involves a lot of failure analysis, intensive data analysis, root cause engineering investigation, DOEs etc.

The key deliverables will be the MDW / MDSW yield, MDSW HGA completion & MDSW related drive yield improvements. It fits right into the overall company bottom / top line of cost reduction, time to market & new product areas etc.

**About the role - you will**:

- Responsible for MDSW & MDSWC product & process (include the new product’s transfer from US design center / SFE)
- Evaluate & optimize MDW / MDSW pattern quality and metrics
- Work with various departments (Media Application team, QA, Media FA, SFE & MDW maintenance team) to support the drive & MDXW failure analysis, manufacturing metrics improvement (MDSW / MDSWC yield, HSA insertion, MDW / MDSW HGA completion, cycle time and MDSWC detection optimization)
- Make use of software (python / scripts etc) on process evaluation / optimization / improvements etc.

**About you**:

- Master/Bachelor Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering.
- Self-motivated learner, keen to learn new skills to improve efficiency
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a global environment
- Excellent analytical ability with good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently or as a team player with flexibility to adjust to changing priorities

**Your experience includes**:

- Knowledge of servo pattern writing
- Knowledge of servo, drive servo copy & drive test algorithm
- Knowledge of programming (Matlab, Python etc.)
- Good Six Sigma knowledge / strong data analysis skills
