Regional Marketing Director

**1.**Position Overview**
The Regional Marketing Director for the Pharmaceutical Business is responsible for planning and executing marketing strategies for Otsuka International Asia and Arab (OIAA) countries to drive business growth and market penetration. This role requires a deep understanding of regional market dynamics, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
**2.**Major Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement marketing strategies tailored to the unique needs of the Asia, Arab and Oceania markets.
- Provide leadership and direction to Product Marketing Managers, ensuring alignment with overall marketing goals.
- Discussion and Direction Setting on Marketing Strategies and Issues with Country Managers
- Support the marketing strategies for new pipeline products in the region and collaborate with Medical Affairs (MA), Regulatory Affairs (RA), and Market Access teams to establish optimal launch plans for the OIAA region.
- Understand the needs of emerging markets and provide support for tailored marketing strategies, collaborating with local marketing teams and communicating with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
- Build and Maintain Relationships with Local Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within the region and incorporate customer feedback into the marketing strategy.
- Develop concepts for regional market research based on business needs, and coordinate and execute these plans in collaboration with the global team and marketing teams in each country within the region.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of market analysis reports for new pipeline products across different countries and provide guidelines for strategic marketing direction.
- Establish and maintain a sound, professional relationship with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Manage and provide comprehensive responses to marketing-related information requests from the Japan headquarters, global team, and stakeholders.
- Conduct strategic discussions and reporting with cross-functional teams from the Japan headquarters and global teams (in English and Japanese).
- Collaborate with global teams to adapt global strategies to regional needs and develop region-specific strategies.
- Manage the regional marketing budget and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Prepare regular reports on marketing performance and market trends of each country within the region, and evaluate the execution of marketing strategies.
- Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, global team and media.
**3.**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Life Sciences or related fields (e.g., Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry)
- 15+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- 5+ years’ experience in marketing and over 3+ years’ experience in regional marketing (Multiple countries)
- 3+ years’ international leadership experience (General Manager ~ Managing Director role or equivalent)
- Business Development (BD) experience and experience launching new products in multiple countries.
- Fluent in Japanese and English with strong business communication skills (both written and verbal) since daily communication is necessary in both languages, internally and externally. Proficiency in additional languages would be a plus.
- Experience in marketing or sales within the Central Nervous System (CNS), Nephrology, and Oncology/Hematology fields.
