Java Team Manager

**We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Team Manager to lead a team of low latency engineers in the design and development of cutting-edge electronic trading systems. This role is pivotal in driving the architecture, performance, and reliability of trading platforms that operate in high-throughput, low-latency environments across global financial markets.**:
**Role Overview**:
We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient **Java Team Manager**to lead a team of engineers in the design and development of **low latency electronic and algorithmic trading systems**. This role combines leadership, deep technical expertise, and domain knowledge in financial markets to deliver high-performance trading platforms that support both manual and automated trading strategies.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead and mentor a team of Java engineers focused on building low latency trading and algorithmic execution systems.
- Architect and implement scalable, high-performance components using Java, Kafka, Chronicle Queue, and other low latency technologies.
- Collaborate closely with quantitative researchers, traders, and data scientists to integrate algorithmic trading models into production systems.
- Design and develop infrastructure for real-time market data ingestion, signal processing, and strategy execution.
- Ensure ultra-low latency and high throughput across trading workflows, including order routing, risk checks, and market connectivity.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, ensuring high standards in code quality, testing, and deployment.
- Drive innovation in trading system design, latency optimization, and algorithmic execution frameworks.
- Happy to be hands-on coding in Java 70% of the time.

**Key Skills & Experience**:
**Technical Skills**:

- **Expert-level Java**development with strong knowledge of JVM internals and performance tuning on low latency trading engines.
- Proven experience in **low latency systems**and **electronic trading platforms**.
- Strong proficiency in **Kafka**, **Chronicle Queue**, and other high-performance messaging systems.
- Deep understanding of **multithreading, concurrency, data structures, network programming, and garbage collection and ideally familiarity with zero-garbage collection concepts.**:

- Experience with **algorithmic trading systems**, including strategy integration, signal processing, and execution logic
- **IS A NICE TO HAVE**the low latency engineering skills are the essentials.
- Familiarity with real-time market data feeds, FIX protocol, and exchange APIs.
- Exposure to backtesting frameworks, simulation environments, and latency measurement tools.

**Leadership & Management**:

- Proven track record in leading high-performing engineering teams in financial technology.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to translate business and trading requirements into technical solutions.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in quantitative trading, market microstructure, or automated execution strategies.
- Knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, or signal processing is a plus.
