**AlphaScale Background**
The AlphaScale system was developed within Kepler - a fully owned GIC subsidiary company set up to incubate radical innovations - and internalized into GIC’s Systematic Investment Group (SIG) after a successful period of R&D, testing and deployment. AlphaScale is a dynamic optimization system that leverages industry leading alpha capture and Machine Learning technologies to systematize the end-to-end capital allocation process for a large institutional investor. We are looking for a quantitative researcher to help advance the team’s ambitious research and portfolio management agenda. A strong technical skillset combined with a fundamental investment intuition is essential.
You’ve got an interest in machine learning and are proficient in all aspect of quantitative investing including exploratory data analysis, signal generation and portfolio construction. You are always willing to roll up your sleeves to find results. You thrive in a collaborative environment where you’re always being challenged to find solutions to unique problems. Hands on experience developing alpha capture strategies is a strong plus.

**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Contribute to further development and enhancement of a scalable quantitative system in production
- Construct alpha-capture signals, combination methods and optimization routines
- Perform independent research to improve feature selection, objective functions, hyper-parameter and model selection across the range of ML models included within the system

**KEY SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS**:

- Extensive programming experience in Python
- Broad exposure to financial markets data, pre-processing, data structures and data caching operations
- 2 - 8 years’ experience within a quantitative research or investing team within a large bank or investment firm managing in excess of $2 billion
- Strong quantitative/statistical skills, independent research experience and demonstrated thought leadership
- Understanding of equities portfolio construction, factor risk models, transaction cost analysis
- Post-graduate level degree in a technical field or an ability to provide strong evidence of technical skills
