The APS Graduate Analyst Programme is a 12-month programme designed to acclimate and train the best young, bi-cultural talents (e.g. West and East) who wish to pursue an analytical career in the investment industry. As such, the programme provides our graduate analysts a solid foundation to develop essential professional, technical and personality skills that will allow them to succeed in building their investment career.

As a Graduate Analyst, you can (among other things) expect to:

- Develop technical skills e.g. learn basics of practical investing; understand value chain of investing; understand concepts of fundamental investing; analyse business models; differentiate between theory and reality in analysing financial statements; learn quantitative analysis using Excel/Bloomberg/other tools; utilize investigative and forensic accounting techniques in analysing companies
- Acquire personality attributes e.g. distil complex data into concise information; develop behavioural attributes of a good analyst (e.g. independent and critical thinking, meticulous); engage with buy/sell-side analysts, brokers, company representatives; develop interpersonal and intercultural skills working in teams; learn how to debate, challenge opinions, present your ideas and engage with analysts, portfolio managers, brokers, asset owners, etc.
- Learn market knowledge e.g. understand the operations of an asset manager, insights of China equities and market, latest market and investor trends, types of investors and asset owners
- Work as an analyst to support the investment team e.g. generate investment ideas; conduct due diligence on companies and industries by researching, reading financial statements and market data; draft and write research reports for fund manager or client use; meet with and provide information (including summaries of research, investment ideas, key events from the preceding day as well as key drivers for the day ahead) to fund managers

The Graduate Analyst will work alongside our investment team and will be treated as a regular employee. At the end of the Graduate Analyst Programme, the top performer(s) will be offered an employment to join the APS Investment team as an Analyst.
