Data Protection Manager

We are looking for a team player with sharp analytical and communication skills, who is diligent, proactive, collaborative, organized and has demonstrated excellent legal and business judgment and strategic thinking, with the ability to lead and drive organization-wide multi-stakeholder work programmes from inception to conclusion on a cross functional basis.

You will operate with limited guidance and have strong business partnering skills that you will proactively use. You won't be afraid to approach new, unique problems, and you'll be capable of working with large amounts of data with high attention to detail. This position will report to the Head of Data and Analytics, DPO for Sleek in Singapore, and responsibilities will cover all geographies where Sleek operates.

**Position Duties**:

- Create and manage data protection and risk management awareness training programs for all employees, contractors and relevant parties.
- Develop, communicate and ensure compliance with Sleek organizational data protection and related security policies and standards.
- Assist with investigations into complaints relating to potential breaches of applicable data protection regulations and undertake remedial action / reporting, as required.
- Monitor, respond to and proactively engage with industry associations, regulators on developments in data protection and information security.
- Provide leadership and support on a wide variety of personal data protection issues as needed such as DPIAs, international data transfers, marketing-related privacy issues such as consent requirements and cookie compliance, strategic engagement with relevant regulators.
- Serve as the point of contact between Sleek and the relevant supervisory authorities.
- Provide clarity on new or alternative advice or positions to help operational teams deliver ongoing and sustainable improvement in data governance according to data protection principles.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills, including the ability to assess risk and impact from a privacy and data protection perspective.
- Ability to independently, quickly and accurately assess legal, practical and business risks in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments.
- Attention to detail and strong drafting ability that can be used in a commercial setting with business stakeholders, allied to demonstrable capabilities of drafting executive reports and analyzing dashboards.

- Degree in related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years Work experience in data protection and legal / compliance.
- Good understanding of the global data protection laws and regulations preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Meticulous and strong time management skills.
- Able to work independently but also self directed, with the ability to work in diverse teams.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
