**Responsibilities**:
- Generates and develops sound trading strategies that result in increased profitability for the book.
- Trades in fuel oil physical, financial commodities for trading for profit.
- Engage with industry experts and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
- Develops new trading markets/ideas for fuel oil and new business opportunities to increase existing deal flow.
- Negotiates spot & term contracts and ensuring each contract is performed in accordance with agreed terms.
- Communicates clearly strategy, transactions, position and operational requirements to team and supporting staff.
- Evaluates markets and market trends and shares point of view with other Supply & Trading offices
- Exhibits and demonstrates strong operational excellence and discipline in managing trading positions.
- Executes complex buy / sell / exchange spot and term agreements.
- Resolves commercial disputes through negotiating skills.
- Holds strong understanding of underlying markets.
- Shares best practices with team members on negotiating skills / techniques.
- Ensures all trading activities are conducted within appropriate delegations of authority.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree Level (or equivalent) in one of the following fields is preferred: Chemical Engineering, Economics, Business.
- At least 5 + years of proven physical trading experience in fuel oil / bunkers.
- Excellent record - in previous and current roles - of being strongly driven towards future success and profit generation.
- Demonstrated leadership, positive influence and teamwork behaviours.
- A self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic high-pressure diverse team environment.
- Strong knowledge of global petroleum markets and respective fundamentals, good knowledge of refining and blending economics will be a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, ability to deal with high levels of complexity.
- Fluency in English.
- Commercial acumen to identify deal opportunities. A high level of attention to detail and experience in fuel oil/related industries.
- Thorough knowledge of the energy business, commercial market
- Market and trading analysis (market views, technical and fundamental / S&D).
