[What the role is]

The Centre for Digital and Precision Engineering (CDPE) is a $21 million state-of-the-art facility and the nerve centre for training precision engineering students and supporting the developmental and technological needs of the local Precision Engineering (PE) industry. The centre will be key in developing and sustaining the PE industry of the future. It hosts new competency areas such as Advanced Machining Technologies, Mould Design & Advanced Plastics Processing, Integrated Toolroom Solutions, Advanced & Nano-metrology, Digital Manufacturing and Industry 4.0. The centre has established strategic partnerships with key global leading companies in the precision engineering process development and equipment manufacturing areas. These partnerships allow the centre to remain technologically relevant and adopt the best industry practices in precision engineering worldwide.

[What you will be working on]
- Spearhead and lead industry/development projects in CNC machining, CNC EDM and Wirecut, Mechanical Design, CAD/CAM areas
- Support in conducting training for adult learning in areas related to Precision Machining
- Oversee and manage lab equipment and operations
- Engage with industry, to identify new opportunities, initiatives and collaborations in response to changing Precision Engineering landscape.
- Perform associated academic and administrative duties

[What we are looking for]
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience in Manufacturing or Precision Engineering industry.
- Relevant qualifications in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering
- CAD / Mechanical Design (Siemens NX)
- CAD/CAM (Siemens NX / Unigraphics)
- 3-axis / 5-axis CAM Programming & Machining (Milling / Turning)
- Toolroom Machining (CNC EDM & Wirecut)
- CNC High Speed Machining
- CNC Multi-task (Turn/Mill)
