Job Title: Emergency Nurse
Job Summary: As an Emergency Nurse in a private ambulance context, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality medical care to patients in emergency situations outside of the hospital setting. Working closely with a team of paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and other healthcare professionals, you will assess, stabilize, and treat patients at the scene of accidents, medical emergencies, or during interfacility transfers. Your quick thinking, advanced clinical skills, and ability to remain calm under pressure will be essential in delivering rapid and effective care to individuals in critical conditions.
**Responsibilities**:
- **Emergency Response**:Respond promptly to emergency calls, either by ambulance or other designated transport vehicle, and provide immediate medical assistance to patients at the scene.
- **Patient Assessment**:Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions, including vital signs, medical history, and symptoms, to determine the appropriate course of action.
- **Treatment and Interventions**:Administer emergency medical treatments and interventions as necessary, including CPR, wound care, medication administration, and advanced life support techniques.
- **Medical Documentation**:Accurately document all patient assessments, treatments, and interventions according to established protocols and guidelines.
- **Communication**:Maintain clear and effective communication with other members of the healthcare team, including paramedics, EMTs, physicians, and receiving facilities.
- **Equipment Maintenance**:Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies on the ambulance, including defibrillators, monitors, and medications.
- **Safety Protocols**:Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to protect both patients and healthcare providers from harm.
- **Patient Advocacy**:Advocate for the best interests of patients and ensure that they receive appropriate care and support throughout the transport process.
- **Continuing Education**:Stay updated on the latest advancements in emergency nursing practice and participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
- **Compliance**:Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies governing emergency medical services and patient care.
Qualifications:
- **Nurse License**:Valid and current license issued by Singapore Nursing Board.
- **Emergency Nursing Certification**:Certification in emergency nursing (e.g., CEN) preferred.
- **Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification**:Current ACLS certification required.
- **Basic Life Support (BCLS) Certification**:Current BLCS certification required.
- **Experience**:Minimum of 6-10 years of healthcare experience in an emergency or critical care setting preferred. (Experience in ambulance context is preferred)
- **Excellent Communication Skills**:Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals in high-stress situations.
- **Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills**:Capacity to make rapid decisions and implement appropriate interventions in emergency situations.
- **Availability**:Willingness to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
