Latency Critical Trading (LCT) seeks a Linux Systems Engineer to join our team.

Team Composition

Our team consists of highly skilled C++, Linux, Network, SRE, and other highly skilled Linux Engineers equipped with the tools and untethered access required to make meaningful changes to both general purpose and niche server environments. Job Function Summary

Principal Responsibilities
- Part of the globally deployed engineering team that supports and maintains Virtualization/Linux and related infrastructure stack
- Identifying, prioritizing, and resolving high level incidents and requests
- Proactively working on issues, identifying problem areas, and providing solutions to enhance quality of service and to prevent future problems
- Requirement gathering, analyzing, and Implementing the solutions as per the business requirements
- Identifying risks, forming contingency plans, and implementing them
- Collaborating with engineers, developers, and other technologists to find solutions to complex problems while working closely and supporting other technical and business teams for their day to day requirements
- Delivering stable, repeatable, and high performing Linux systems through code
- Monitoring the performance and health of the latency critical computing environment
- Investigating performance related issues using various tools; eg: systemtap
- Performing production changes and deployments
- Leading discussions and ensure consistent communication with involved parties and stakeholders
- Producing quality documentation of the low latency environment
- Participating in off-hours, weekends and holidays on-call support as and when required

Qualifications/Skills Required
- 8+ years of hands on experience in financial technology services
- 4+ years of experience in low latency trading systems
- 4+ years of experience in Implementing, designing and supporting a reliable and scalable infrastructure
- Experience working with Linux performance tuning and low latency network interfaces with kernel bypass (Solarflare OpenOnload) and multicast networking
- Deep understanding of cgroups, csets, low latency kernel parameters + BIOS tuning interaction
- Experience managing and supporting HP Enterprise servers with and in depth understanding of the internal system architecture and BIOS settings
- Experience with Redline InRush is a plus
- Experience coordinating projects across multiple teams / functional areas
- Extensive experience with configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet and Terraform.
- Organized, responsible and meticulous, and good at creating documentation at a high level
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash)
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure services such as Networking, DNS, NTP/PTP, NIS, etc.
- Should have a very good understanding about engineering and supporting Active Directory, SCCM, DFS, DNS, DHCP etc
- Understanding of networking concepts, experience with network tools like netmon, wireshark etc.
- Hands on experience and knowledge on Virtualization technologies like Vmware ESXi, vCenter server, Hyper-V etc.
- Ability to communicate at detailed levels to teams and users
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with an independent/self-starter work ethic
- Quick learner, Detail oriented; Demonstrable thoroughness and strong ownership of work
- Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or related experience
- RHCE or equivalent is a plus
- Scripting abilities using PowerShell or Python etc.
- Some experience with Windows preferred, particularly Windows-Linux interaction (NXClient, NFS, LDAP etc.)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
- High level knowledge on Storage technologies like SAN / NAS / iSCSI with specific product knowledge on EMC Unity, NetApp FAS etc.
- Hands on experience with physical installation, racking and configuration of servers like HP DL360 Gen10, etc.
