SCHEDULE A - ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB TITLE : Diver

ROLE : To carry out subsea operations.

REPORT TO : Diving Supervisor / Diving Superintendent

DUTIES:
You shall:
1. Be trained in diving theory, practice, and the equipment to be used. Verification of this shall be maintained by the Company’s management team.

2. Accomplish all tasks assigned by the diving supervisor. In the event the diver is assigned a task for which he does not consider himself competent either by training and/or experience, the diver shall immediately inform the diving supervisor.

3. Keep and maintain a personal logbook and any company specific documentation required by the company for presentation to the supervisor at every job.

4. Ensure that his diving physical is up to date, meeting with the requirements of Section 3.2 of this manual.

5. Comply with all rules and policies of the company, specific job contractors and any applicable government agency.

6. Maintain a level of physical fitness as specified by the company and the diving physician and required by the Singapore diving regulations.

7. Ensure diving equipment has been properly maintained, prepared and tested before each dive.

8. Follow all safe diving practices at all times during the diving operation whether on deck or in the water.

9. Bring to the attention of the Diving Supervisor any questionable items.

10. Be alert for the safety of him and others.

11. Ensure that the deepest depth attained during their dive has been established before their ascent.

12. Immediately obey all instructions from the Diving Supervisor to return to the surface.

13. Safely exit the water and move to the decompression chamber (if required) without delay.

14. Remain awake and in the vicinity of the decompression chamber for at least one‐hour post dive or post treatment.

15. Act as a stand‐by diver when directed to do so. While acting as a stand‐by diver the diver shall be dressed in equal to or greater dress of the diver and be prepared to enter the water immediately and stay at depth as long as required without jeopardising safe practices.

16. As standby diver you shall monitor the dive radio and the progress of the job as applicable.

17. Not be assigned any task that might interfere with their duties as a standby diver while there is a Diver in the water.

18. Comply with regulations or instructions concerning the use, maintenance, repair, and testing of all diving equipment provided for the operation.

19. Report to the Diving Supervisor any recent medical treatment or illness so that a proper determination can be made concerning their fitness and/or ability to dive.

20. Immediately report all symptoms or suspected symptoms of DCIs to the Diving Supervisor as early and accurately as possible.

21. Report to the Diving Supervisor any defect or malfunction of the diving equipment provided for the diving operation.

22. Assist in the training of new personnel or diver/tenders.

23. Know and observe the rules for flying after diving or travelling to altitudes higher than the dive site.

24. Maintain a diver’s log book which details all dives, medical examinations, courses taken, certification level achieved, and personal equipment maintenance.

25. Present their logbook to the Diving Supervisor on every job for his signature.

26. Present logbook to the office for verification every three months.

27. Maintain all company/job required certifications (first aid, CPR, AED, O2 admin etc.)
