**Summary of Role**
Conducts structured education and training programme/s for nurses, employed by FKCSG Singapore; focus on Renal Nurse Induction programme (RNIP)
**Key Accountabilities **Clinical Education**
- Provide clinical education to FME staff on renal /dialysis nursing and general nursing related knowledge and skills in the form of structured programmes of education and training
- Provide Renal Nurse Induction programme to new staff and evaluation knowledge, skills & attitudes by the:
- Provision of instruction/education to support the Staff Nurses (SN) in their understanding of safe dialysis practice
- Assessment of dialysis clinical skills and constructive (written & verbal) feedback for SN improvement
- Manage the Clinical Skills Laboratory (CSL) to ensure good practices and adherence to SOPs
- Maintain the equipment and operations of the CSL; Disinfection, SOPs for use of equipment (cannulation arm) and cost-effective use of consumables
- Evaluate the effectiveness of education/training activities and generate regular reporting systems linked to i. Better communication ii. Quality Improvements
- Collaborate with the Nurse Managers, HR and Operations regarding the graduates from the programme ability to meet standards of clinical practice; use this feedback to evaluate and improve the programme and expectations
- Assurance patient care delivery is safe, competent and carried out according to SOPs and Policies
**MENTORSHIP & GUIDANCE**
- Provide mentorship to designated Assistant Nurse Manager/ Nurse Manager (NM), working closely with their respective Senior Nurse Manager/ Nurse Manager I
- Follow through and liaise with NM and the new nurses who have completed the Renal RNIP to ensure all new nurses are well adjusted and practiced what they have learn in the RNIP
**General**
- Serve as a clinical resource person to all FME staff, including local departments and FME in other regions

- Assumes responsibility for own professional competence by demonstrating willingness to evaluate own teaching/nursing practice.
- Utilises Reflective practice in teaching/learning process to develop self-directed continuous learning; _Participates programs to gain further knowledge to aid self-professional development. _
- Maintains relevant membership in professional and related organisations.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board.
- Degree in Nursing (or equivalent)
- Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Nephrology) or equivalent
- Certified and valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
- At least 5 years of renal experience.
- Experience in **_clinical education _**and quality improvement preferred.
- Graduate Diploma/certificate or equivalent in Education/Adult Learning ( _Desired _)
**Competencies**
- Registered nurse with Singapore Nursing Board with valid practicing certificate
- Minimum five years relevant nursing experience, with an approved nephrology nursing qualification (or practice equivalent).
- Demonstrate decision-making and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to be self-directed.
- Educational skills and demonstrated ability to train others in contemporary nursing practice
