Our efforts in developing imaging biomarkers and analytics revolve around synergizing biology, technology, and data science to create the most innovative biomarker solutions. We are exploring promising science using a wide range of cutting-edge medical imaging platforms, including MRI, PET, Ultrasound, OCT, and Digital Pathology. We are leveraging innovative technology platforms, image & signal processing techniques, and artificial intelligence & machine learning tools to mine large and complex datasets, including medical images, to accelerate the development of transformative therapies.

**About the role**:
We are currently seeking a talented senior computer scientist to join our Genome and Biomarker Sciences (GBx) department. As a Senior Scientist, you will be expected to work as part of a team to develop complex, innovative medical software to support the deployment and validation of specific imaging biomarkers. To build and execute the software platforms, you will work closely with colleagues and key stakeholders from early and late-stage clinical teams and external research institutes and CROs.

A strong and deep programming experience with additional experience in image analysis is required. Working knowledge of software architecture and design, software testing and documentation, and some knowledge of mathematical modeling are essential. Working effectively both independently and in a team environment is expected.

**What will you do in this role**:

- Design, develop and validate cross-platform standalone medical software to support the deployment of imaging biomarkers for drug discovery and development.
- Work with the team and key stakeholders to structure and visualize the software architecture and generate core design specifications, including regulatory, data integrity, and security requirements.
- Drive the implementation of these specifications by developing a modular software architecture including codes, functions, and libraries. Develop and implement computational models for deriving parametric maps from medical images.
- Design and implement high fidelity visual and UX features. Ensure interoperability and cross-platform compatibility.
- Provide overall hands-on technical contribution to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, and QA/QC.
- Accurate record-keeping for notebooks, research logs and reports, SOPs, and QA/QC plans.
- Presentation of research results to clinical and discovery teams, including writing of manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals.

**What should you have**:

- MS or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or the equivalent
- Full-stack developer with 5+ years experience in Python, Java, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of scripting in the numeric computing environment, such as Matlab, is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of software algorithms, data structure, protocols, and cross-platform compatibility issues.
- Deep knowledge of architecting and building front end components and libraries
- Familiarity with software as a medical device compliances, standards, and regulatory requirements (ISO, IEC, CFR, etc.).
- The capability of prioritizing multiple tasks and strong time management skills to meet challenging study timelines.
- Ability to learn drug research and disease biology and develop imaging biomarker software solutions to overcome drug discovery and development challenges.
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Self-inspired and enthusiastic team player capable of working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional working environment.
