Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Vice President, Credit Risk Management.**

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Ensure all Credit Card and unsecured lending policies adhere to applicable Regulatory, Group/Regional/Country policies
- Act as 2nd line of defense risk steward for credit risk in advising unsecured lending risk appetite, enforcing guiding principles on credit policy framework and control standards.
- Close collaboration with Product, Underwriting, Operations, and other regional/country stakeholders to deliver risk-reward balanced and sustainable growth strategies
- Periodically review the acquisition and portfolio decision strategies with emphasis on customer experience, market competitiveness and sustained profitability. Explore use of new data or third-party tools/data to enhance decision precision
- Monitor closely to ensure that relevant risk models and tools are operating effectively and as expected
- Collaborate with regional/GAC colleagues and support all relevant regional initiatives including data-related and process streamlining
- Provide 2nd line oversight on material risks related to Credit Related Operational Loss taxonomy
- Leverage data, analytics, models, bureau, and systems to drive automated and timely actions for acquisition/portfolio risk management
- Work closely with other members of the country consumer Risk team, and provide the necessary support for the relevant governance/regulatory deliverables, and Quality Assurance responsibilities
- Support for all audits/reviews/management forums in relation to Unsecured lending
- Actively participate in bank-wide and Country Risk team activities

**Qualifications**
- University graduate with minimum 5 years banking experience in retail credit risk management, preferably in Credit Card and Unsecured lending portfolios
- Well-developed analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis using statistical or database packages (e.g., SAS, Python, SQL and Excel)
- Strong understanding of consumer credit cycle, use of scorecards or analytics, local regulatory environment, product knowledge and profit dynamics
- Proven track record in working with stakeholders across diverse geographies and seniority levels
- Effective communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Strong in organization and time management skills
- Highly motivated and self-driven mind-set, with the ability to work independently yet collaboratively with various Customer Groups and external parties (including regulators) to deliver assignments on time
