Financial Analyst

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the VP, Controller & Treasurer to compile all the accounting, tax, finance, and credit related work for parent company in Japan.
This role is responsible to:
- Assist the VP, Controller & Treasurer regarding accounting, tax, finance, and credit related work including consolidation package to parent company in Japan.
- Report to parent company in Japan periodically and quarterly, in Japanese.
- Liaise with external auditors in both Singapore and Japan.
- Support budget and forecast calculation.
- Perform costing analysis for manufacturing subsidiaries.
- Perform internal management control related work and follow up for balance sheet review
- Perform J-SOX related work etc and follow up on J-SOX testing with internal audit team and J-SOX team of parent company in Japan.
Required skills/Qualification
- Degree in International Relations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English & Business Japanese are required due to frequent reporting back to parent company in Japan.
- Minimum 4 years working experience in a Japanese MNC.
- Knowledge of reporting to parent company in Japan.
- Possessing ability to manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities through effective time management.
- Ability to work with a variety of different business and cultures, will be integral to succeed in this role.
- Willing to travel to developing countries on short notice.
- Person will have to be detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, responsible & can work independently.
- Ability to cope with stressful deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills.
- A positive attitude to continued learning.
