**Senior Scientist, Imaging Biomarkers**

In Singapore, our Research Centre is located within the Biopolis, the heart of Singapore's biomedical research community. Here, we are focused on identifying and validating new drug targets, exploring innovative therapeutic modalities, and leveraging clinical studies. We use disease or therapeutic response biomarkers to increase our understanding of human biology and drive a therapeutic pipeline to address unmet medical needs. Our state-of-the-art laboratory supports discovery biology and translational medicine and is an integral part of our company’s world-class network for drug discovery.
Our efforts in developing imaging biomarkers revolve around exploring promising science using a wide range of cutting-edge medical imaging platforms, including Digital Pathology, Spatial Omics Imaging, MRI, PET, Ultrasound and OCT. Advances in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) have transformed how we mine data to provide insights into disease biology and treatment response.
**Objective**:
**What will you do**:
- Develop deep learning/machine learning algorithms and image analysis approaches for spatial multiomics imaging and digital pathology.
- Work with structured and unstructured data from different modalities and develop data integration methods to provide novel insights into disease biology.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors or partners.
- Formulate appropriate hypothesis, identify and execute appropriate analytical methodologies, and interpret AI findings to elucidate disease pathophysiology, discover novel biomarkers, and support target identification/validation.
- Identify internal and external datasets and keep up to date with emerging spatial AI/ML platforms and evaluate their utility.
- Make recommendation/propose study design based on AI/ML analysis results for new target identification and biomarker development.
- Communicate and present results to scientific and technical audiences
- Accurately document data analysis workflow/pipeline and results in electronic notebooks and/or other required formats in compliance with company policies and project needs.
**What should you have**:
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or Masters in these disciplines and 3 years of relevant research experience in AI/ML, image analysis & processing, and spatial multi-omics data analysis.
**Required**:
- Experience in medical imaging analysis and processing.
- Experience in working with spatial multiomic data.
- Proficient in the following programming language: Python, R, Shell, Matlab.
- Keen to learn drug discovery research, disease biology and biomarker development and qualification process.
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills to convey key concepts/results to audience with diverse background.
- Highly collaborative, fast and earnest learner, and self-motivated to handle multiple projects and priorities under challenging study timelines.
- Self-inspired and enthusiastic team player capable of working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional working environment.
**Preferred**:
- Experience in digital pathology images.
- Experience in biomarker studies and drug discovery research.
- Knowledge in bioinformatics.
- Experience in handling large datasets and utilizing cloud computing environment.
- Good understanding of metabolic disease biology.
