**The Role: Teaching and Learning Assistant**
- Support the class teacher.
- Assist the class teacher in the care of the child in accordance with the school’s safeguarding and child protection guidance.
- Independently supervise children at breaktimes, lunchtimes or on trips.
- Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school’s policy and procedures.
- Carry out planned curriculum tasks with individuals or group under teacher instruction.
- Listen to children read, using the appropriate skills.
- Organise resources for the class and maintain educational equipment used by the class.
- Prepare classroom displays and help to prepare art materials for class activity.
- Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school including ECAs and school events.
- Gain knowledge of and proficiency in the ICT programs and apps used by the class.
- Be responsible for reporting any concerns about a child to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
Essential:

- Minimum 3 GCE “O” Level, including a credit in English and Maths, and a Diploma in Preschool Education or equivalent.
- Experience of working with children in a school setting.

Desireable:

- Diploma in education or equivalent.
- Experience working in an international school.
- Experience teaching phonics.
- Qualifications and/or experience working with children with additional educational needs.
- First Aid
