Electrical Maintenance Technician

**The Role**:
**What’s the role?**

As Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will provide technical support and coordinate maintenance work related to electrical discipline.

The role assures that activities on the weekly schedule, emergencies or assigned non-routine maintenance work are executed with quality, efficiency and in compliance to the site Health, Safety and Environment requirements.

Your key accountabilities include the following:

- Provides day-to-day hands-on support to Electrical Engineer on maintenance/troubleshooting in Production Unit.
- Timely execution of routine/preventive maintenance on all electrical works including Steam and Gas Turbine Generator, UPS, Emergency Diesel Generator, Power distribution system, VSD, HV and LV motors/cables, PLC, Earthing, Ex-equipment to ensure high plant availability and equipment integrity.
- Support in preparing job specifications and costing for works involved & follow up issuance of purchase order to Contractors.
- Liaises with/consults Operations, Technology, other Engineering and Procurement departments on scheduled jobs with mínimal disruptions to the operations of the process plants.
- Provides good documentation to ensure all equipment, technical records and drawings are updated to reflect the latest changes, proper and correct procedures are followed, configuration and software changes to electrical equipment are documented, archived, and backed up for disaster recovery.
- Work safely with all staff and contractors to comply with HSSE standards; and participate in audits to ensure compliance with SHELL HSSE standards.
- Participates/conducts audits related to quality, health, safety, and environment.
- Seeks improvement in techniques, procedures, and technology to improve reliability at minimum costs and within budget.
- Maintains work requests and records on maintenance works using computerized maintenance management systems GSAP.

**What we need from you**

To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Relevant Diploma / ITE in Electrical Technology/ Engineering or equivalent.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas/ Process industry maintenance field.
- Skilled in Electrical circuit interpretation, troubleshooting, executing maintenance work, interfacing with others and managing the contractors on site.
- Electrician’s Licence (L7) and/or CompEx Certification will have an advantage.
