**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead, develop and grow the Software and Data Engineering team into a high-performing team that excels in implementing state-of-the-art software solutions encapsulating AI models
- Select, define and maintain Engineering best practices tailored for the AI Programme Office in order to sustain excellent and secure engineering deliverables from the Software and Data Engineering team
- Participate in Agile projects, by playing the role of either Scrum Coach, ScrumMaster or Engineering Lead in projects
- Provide technical leadership and lead by example, by demonstrating the ability to design and code together with the engineers in project teams
- Translate business requirements, proliferation approach and technical product roadmap into practical software architectures for downstream product development
- Work with product owners, engineering teams, and technology solution providers throughout the product development lifecycle from concept, design, prototyping, acceptance testing, delivery, operationalization, industry proliferation, to product end-of-life
- Define and drive software quality management processes in key areas such as quality assurance, quality planning, and quality control to meet industry and regulatory standards
- Obtain stakeholder buy-in for architecture design and its impact on business needs e.g. product management, technology partners, and end-users
- Responsible for software engineering practices and products that comply with prevailing IT policies and standards in government instruction manuals
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior software engineers in the team, and help them to grow in capabilities and confidence
- Stay updated on the market trends and development in Al-related software and data engineering technologies
- Represent Singapore and/or IMDA in AI Programme Office by participating in relevant industry and international forums

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years of team leadership experience. Solution architecture experience with Cloud Platform services is advantageous.
- Experience delivering production grade software using agile development approaches.
- Strong proficiency in at least one of the programming languages - JavaScript, Typescript, Python, Java, C#
- Minimally an AWS Certified Solution Architect - Associate, certifications for other Cloud Platforms will be considered as well.
- Well versed in Agile Methodologies with work experience - Agile certifications will be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong presentation and engagement skills.
- Strong Analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills combined with good business acumen.
- Highly self-driven, a team player and fast learner.
