Little Prince Game Studios is looking for a Game Writer/Narrative Designer who will play an important role in shaping and refining the story and setting of our mobile game.

You will work closely with the lead game designer to weave narrative into game lore, and to build a cohesive and immersive world that fires the imagination.

**Responsibilities**

⦁ Design the game world in line with the project’s artistic vision, including settings and characterization.

⦁ Work with game designers to author narrative scripts for the game’s story dialogue sequences and other future content.

⦁ Produce stories with coherent structures, with a well-crafted plot and character arcs.
- Supporting other writing, voice lines, in-game descriptions, etc, that support game design goals while staying true to the style of the game as needed or directed.

⦁ Conduct historical research to support a degree of historical accuracy for the game’s content.

**Required Qualifications**

⦁ Diploma / Degree in English, English Literature, Creative Writing, Communications / Media, or an equivalent.

⦁ Excellent command of the English language. The ability to generate fluent, engaging, grammatical prose without supervision, and without any need for proofreading.

⦁ Strong interest in (and knowledge of) the use of narrative in games.

⦁ Well-read and well-versed in the sci-fi / fantasy genre as a whole; a critical knowledge of tropes, conventions, and their relation to popular culture.

⦁ A lively interest in real-world history and / or historical fiction

⦁ A strong team ethic, and a receptivity to co-writing and revisions. This is not a personal project. You must turn in concert with other gears in the machine, in service of a brief that you will not determine.

⦁ A portfolio of written work that demonstrates a sustained interest in creative writing, especially in the fantasy genre. Samples of academic writing are welcome to demonstrate capability. Do, however, curate the samples. Raw quantity will take a back seat to quality.

Relevant samples include: fan fiction, published articles, books, short stories, scripts, screenplays, essays. The samples must demonstrate the ability to write strong, likeable characters and equally strong dialogue, as dialogue will take up a large portion of your work.

**Desired qualifications but not required**

⦁ At least 1 year of professional experience in developing narrative content in media such as video games, websites, television, film, print, and radio.

⦁ A nuanced and extensive understanding of the ancient Roman Empire, its historical figures, and the gods and goddesses it worshipped.

⦁ An elementary understanding of game design principles.

⦁ Some knowledge on execution of dialogue systems in game engines.

⦁ Well-versed in historical fiction in media : books, movies, games, anime and manga.

⦁ Ability to illustrate and storyboard.

⦁ Some experience in script writing (written screenplays / scripts before).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Contract

**Salary**: $2,500.00 - $4,500.00 per month
