Due to our company's continued growth and expansion, we are now hiring the following position

**Financial Accountant**

We are looking for someone who responsible for areas related to financial operations, GL maintenance, taxes, statutory reporting and regulatory reporting of our offices in Malaysia, Thailand and Dubai.

Finance operations
- Ensure accounting and underwriting data detail flows through the office are properly accounted into the CODA accounting system.
- Preparation of data processing activity in finance department.
- Ensure timeliness of accounting and bookkeeping activities
- Ensure payment requests (claims, expenses and others) are made and authorised by authorised personnel within their respective authority limits.
- Conduct a month-end run of CODA, including the close off of the CODA Ledger.
- Run a currency revaluation during the month-end closing.
- Assist to prepare and complete Checklists (month end and year end) for adherence to proper documentation and approval process for Labuan branch.
- Training of new staff on CODA system and month-end closing process.
- Assist to reconcile the finance and tax data between the branches and HG-I, eg. Element1 and Element 7 differences.
- Perform reconciliation of HGN SOA and Branch to effect timely settlement.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and cash flows overview.

Accounting System
- Preparation of Balance Sheet schedules at month end.
- Reconciliation between the Balance Sheet schedules and CODA general ledger at month end.
- Ensure GERAS transactions are all interfaced correctly to the CODA Ledger.
- Responsible to implement changes (for gaps identified where required) in GERAS fields via Track Plus to ensure the GERAS data input and underwriting data flow are processed in adequate and proper manner to be reflected into CODA ledger.
- Responsible to implement changes in CODA system via Track Plus to ensure the accounting entries are reflected in the proper Element 1 and Element 7 accounts.

External Reporting & Local Reporting
- Ensure reporting deadlines set by HG-I, LFSA and local branch management are met.
- Assist with the preparation of financial accounts and statutory reports for onward submission to HO, LFSA and DFSA.
- Manage and prepare Dubai and Thailand financial accounts, statutory reports to local branch management.
- Support preparation of Reporting packages to HG-I.
- Prepare standard or ad-hoc analysis on the performance of the branch.
- Prepare evaluation and improvements required.
- Support preparation of Labuan and Dubai Corporate Tax calculation.
- Support the finance functions to prepare information required and explanations to the Appointed Auditor and Tax Advisor during year-end audit review
- Ensure annual audit process is carried out smoothly and timely so that Annual returns and financial statements can be finalised and submitted to authorities before required deadlines.
- Implement rectification of issues raised and recommended by the Auditors, to ensure adequate internal controls are in place within Finance Department.
- Ensure provisions and costs are posted in CODA according to cost planning and actual cost incurred.

**Key Competencies Requirement**
- Minimum of 3 years of Finance experience, preferably in insurance related industry.
- Relevant Accounting/ Finance professional or equivalent qualifications**.**
