**What the role is**
- You will be involved in research & development studies to develop and implement new sustainable and smart initiative projects for both existing and new HDB developments, with a key focus in planning and strategizing implementation of smart building technologies to achieve quality living environment in HDB towns. You will also be involved in the coordination of on-going sensors roll-out for new HDB developments that are under construction.

**What you will be working on**
- You will have the opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary team to identify new research studies in the area of smart building technologies that addresses real-world challenges and test-bedding them to validate the desired outcomes for further deployment at HDB towns and estates to improve sustainability and productivity. This will involve collaborations with various stakeholders such as government agencies, industry partners and institutes of higher learning etc. to conduct and manage R&D projects to deliver the HDB Smart Urban Habitat Masterplan in support of Singapore’s Smart Nation vision.
You will also need to formulate strategies to implement and realise the vision of HDB’s Smart Town Framework which includes working with sensors and systems managers to prepare the industry to support the implementation of planned smart initiatives for e.g reviewing deployment strategies, working with solution providers, contractors and consultants to track and facilitate sensor roll-out, review technical and cybersecurity requirements, and to have engagements with Town Councils to ensure the successful deployment and maintenance of the smart systems.

**What we are looking for**
- You should possess background in Engineering recognised by the Professional Engineers Board, or in a related discipline. You should have at least 5 years of experience in the area of sustainability research / smart building technology research / project development and management of smart and sustainable development projects. A good understanding and appreciation of smart sensors, sensor protocols, modes of communication for data transmission, IoT & cyber security and urban analytics will be advantageous.
Proficient knowledge of code in C# and other programming language is a plus. You should possess the ability to conceptualise and write research and funding proposals, be competent in delivering presentations, have good interpersonal skills as well as strong management with problem solving skills. You should be independent, meticulous, resilient, have the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team and possess experience in developing and managing projects.
