Job Description

Position Summary

Rockwell Automation is looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our dynamic and software development team.

As a Software Manager, you will help guide the delivery of high-quality software products, managing a team of experienced developers, working as part of a global product development team, and contributing to the success of our organization.

You have a track record in software product development and the ability to balance leadership with strategic goals.

You will report to Senior engineering manager.

Essential Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software developers, promoting a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Provide guidance to team members, ensuring their professional development; develop a world-class software team through competency development and performance management.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects within established timelines and budget constraints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, scope, and objectives. Manage and allocate resources effectively to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Implement and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality and reliable software products.
- Drive technical excellence and innovation within the software development team. Assess and address skill gaps within the team through training and recruitment.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve software development processes.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including product managers, to define technology roadmap and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and milestones to senior management.

Qualifications Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Required Experience
- You have Experience with software product development, with at least 10 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Technical background with expertise in developing large software products with software/firmware interfaces.
- You have the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
- Practical experience with Agile methodologies.
- Project management Experience creating system documentation.
- And decision-making abilities.
- Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners.
- Direct experience with the Industrial Automation industry is an advantage.

Rockwell Automation’s hybrid policy aligns that employees are expected to work at a Rockwell location at least Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays unless they have a business obligation out of the office.
