Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Warehouse Assistant to join our team. As a Warehouse Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining an efficient and orderly warehouse environment. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving and storing incoming shipments, preparing outgoing orders and ensuring accurate inventory management. You will collaborate with a diverse team of warehouse personnel and contribute to the smooth operation of our warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Receiving and Inspection:

- Receive incoming shipments, verifying their accuracy against purchase orders or delivery documents.
- Inspect received goods for quality, quantity and any damage.
- Sort and organize received items for proper storage and distribution.

2. Inventory Management:

- Accurately record and update inventory levels in the warehouse management system.
- Conduct regular stock checks to ensure inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Assist in performing cycle counts and periodic inventory audits as required.

3. Order Fulfillment:

- Retrieve items from storage areas based on order requirements.
- Prepare orders for shipment by picking, packing and labelling items appropriately.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders to the shipping area.

4. Warehouse Organization and Maintenance:

- Maintain a clean, safe and organized warehouse environment.
- Properly store and arrange inventory to optimize space utilization.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or maintenance issues.

5. Equipment and Supplies:

- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
- Monitor and request supplies as needed, such as packaging materials and shipping supplies.

6. Collaboration and Communication:

- Work closely with warehouse team members to fulfil operational requirements.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors regarding inventory status, issues and potential improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing and customer service, to ensure smooth workflow and timely order fulfilment.

Qualifications and Skills:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience working in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.
- Familiar with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and willingness to obtain necessary certifications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects as required.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
