Senior Facility Engineer

For more than 350 years and across the world we have passionately pursued our curiosity to find novel and vibrant ways of enhancing the lives of others. **Your Role** As Senior Facility Engineer, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure, utilities and equipment of our GMP/GLP lab facility to ensure it is fit for purpose at any given time. You will be responsible for assessing the facility's resource requirements, optimizing the facility's layout and critical operational systems, and overseeing the maintenance of infrastructure and equipment. You will develop and implement utility plans, perform system evaluations, and establish operational efficiency. As senior team member you will lead as Facility SME during audits and you will coordinate, provide oversight and coach junior engineers/staff. This role will require close collaboration internally with Lab Operations, Quality and Global Engineering, and externally with Service Providers to ensure business continuity. The Senior Facility Engineer is a key member of the Facilities team of our rapidly growing integrated BSL-2 Facility (~4,000 m2) in Singapore, which offers Contract Testing Services for biopharmaceutical companies across the APAC region. **What You Do** - Plan and manage routine PM, calibration and non-routine repair work on facility, mechanical, electrical, lab and general equipment. - Maintain and ensure efficient operation of HVAC systems, Building Management System (BMS), Equipment Monitoring system (EMS), Computer Maintenance and Management System (CMMS), electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and building repairs. - Ensure effective engagement of 3rd party vendors/contractors, monitor preventive maintenance contracts and work with Procurement for equipment maintenance & calibration quotations. - Manage the site security system; configuration of security systems and access badges. - Coordinate and supervise periodic after-hours building repairs (e.g. during annual shutdown), preventive maintenance and emergency repair activities as required. - Provide after-hour standby support for system alarm response on a rotational basis. - Initiate and enable cost savings measures and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring equipment are 24/7 online. - Manage training for contractors and ensure all contract work is performed per GMP/GLP requirements. - Create new SOPs for new systems or work processes while ensure existing SOPs are relevant and up to date. - Lead events, investigations, change controls & CAPA's for designated area. - Coordinate, coach and provide oversight to junior engineer/staff. - Lead as Subject Matter Expert for Facilities in all client and regulatory audits, address auditor's questions and findings in a timely manner. - Represents the site in global facility related projects and leads local implementation of global processes, systems and Digitalization and Automation site efforts. - Supports and works with Global Engineering and local teams on site expansion projects from engineering design, tendering, construction phases, commissioning and validation using various project management skills. **Who You Are** - Degree in Engineering or Science related fields with >6 year of working experience in pharmaceutical, bio-pharmaceutical or life science. - 6 years combined experience working in facility, equipment or maintenance role - 3 years working in a regulated environment (GMP). - Understanding of operation of BSL-2 lab environment is highly desirable. - Experience in validation of equipment and computerized systems is desirable. - Experience in managing capital projects is a plus. - Practical understanding of facility systems and engineering drawings. - Competent as events lead investigator and root cause analysis techniques. - Good oral and written communication skills. - Strong project management skills: planning, organizing, attention to detail, managing competing priorities. - Good problem solving, customer service and planning skills. - Good team player embracing multi-cultural, multi-lingual and multi-time zone work environment. - Curiosity and drive to succeed: individually and as a team; willingness to learn and lead by doing. **What we offer**:We are curious minds that come from a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences.
